Upper School Students Win National Scholastic Writing & Arts Awards
Three Upper School students received national medals from the Scholastic Writing & Arts Awards over the summer. Dylan L. ’25 and Audrey M. ’27 received gold medals for written pieces, and CiCi Z. ’26 received a silver medal in the art category.
"Receiving a Scholastic Gold Medal for my poem 'Save me a Plum' is not just an honor, but it's also a reminder that our words can be a call to action for our planet's future,” said Audrey. “I'm so glad that a message about the climate crisis could be recognized. To me, it means that we can all find a special way to do our part in fighting for our future, whether that's showing up to protests and rallies and supporting climate movements, speaking out for climate-friendly policies and technologies, or putting pen to paper—and writing a poem.”
For Cici, the award was personal and meaningful. “It's such a huge validation to both my journey as an artist and the work I've put my heart into,” she said.
Please join us in congratulating these students! Huge thanks to Rachel Pringle and Arnor Bieldvelt for supporting these submissions.
