PolyToday: Where the rosin meets the strings

Third-graders have spent the last several weeks learning about their violins and cellos, identifying parts of their instruments, practicing proper posture and bow holds, discovering what a "down" bow is, and learning other terminology unique to the musical world. Students put their bows on the strings and made their first sounds this week, much to the surprise and delight of the promising musicians.
