At the 87th Academy Awards on Sunday, Kristina Hamm Reed '83 took home an Oscar for the Best Animated Short Film for “Feast.” It is an endearing film about one man’s love life seen through the eyes of his best friend and dog, Winston. Reed, a producer at Walt Disney Animation Studios, accepted the award alongside director Patrick Osborne. She also co-produced “Big Hero Six,” which won the 2015 Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film.
After graduating from Poly, Reed attended Brown University, where she received her bachelor's degree in creative writing. She has more than 20 years of experience in animation and visual effects, the last six of which she has served on the Studio Leadership Team of Disney Animation Studios. In 2013, Reed’s short film, “Paperman,” also earned the Oscar for the Best Animated Short Film.
