Knowing some Shakespeare early in life provides immeasurable benefits. In this class, students will explore the beauty, wisdom, and humor of some of the finest writing in history. Students will be introduced to the Bard by learning to read and memorize accessible passages while adding dramatic flair and building reading fluency. Together, we will delve a bit into the historical context and do creative art to accompany some of the verses. Reciting passages from Shakespeare will increase your child’s confidence level, verbal ability, and understanding of our rich literary history, all while having fun in a warm, friendly environment. Please note that while we will emphasize expressiveness and encourage physical movement, this is not a drama or theatre class.
