Welcome to the Art of Stage Combat: Unleashing Theatrical Feats! In this course, students will embark on a journey into the fundamentals of fight choreography. Students will master the art of stage punches, kicks, slaps, and dive rolls as well as an introduction to the world of stage weapons such as the rapier and dagger. Students will learn and perform pre-established fights as well as creatively create their own, while emphasizing safety and precision. The Art of Stage Combat involves a comprehensive exploration and understanding of fitness, safety, injury prevention, spatial awareness, and mindfulness. This class will provide the students with an insight into the unique challenges posed by performances for the theater and those intended for the camera. This course will culminate with an opportunity for the students to showcase their new skills by performing their choreographed fights for others. Their final combat will be filmed so they may share their work with family and friends. Join us for an exhilarating exploration of the art of stage combat!
