Poly Bids Farewell to Girls' Tennis Program Head Mark Pfau
Polytechnic announces the departure of Girls’ Tennis Program Head, Mark Pfau, who was a steadying force for the tennis program this past year. Coach Pfau is relocating out of state to be closer to family.
During Coach Pfau's tenure, the school's tennis team finished with a record of seven wins and eight losses and had success in the individuals and doubles brackets of the Prep League Tournament, sending one individual and one doubles team to the CIF Playoffs. Coach Pfau has been instrumental in developing the players' skills and has been a mentor and role model to many of them.
“Goodbyes are always tough,” said Pfau, “but I am proud of this group, and the future is very bright. The Panthers will return five All-League players while losing only one team member to graduation. If the team commits to their goals, the sky will be the limit.”
"Coach Pfau has been an outstanding coach and a valuable member of our school community. We are grateful for his contributions to our tennis program and wish him all the best in his future endeavors," said Director of Athletics Scott A. Bello.
The school will begin the search for a new tennis coach immediately. The school is committed to finding a coach who will continue to build on the success of the tennis program and provide the players with the guidance and support they need to excel.
