A Very Positive Outlook

As the fall season quickly approaches, Poly's Athletic Department has a very positive outlook for the upcoming school year.  Just under half of the Upper School student body participated in one or more sports programs this summer. These student-athletes developed individual sports skills and enjoyed growing with their teammates. The Athletic Department thanks the coaches and players for their commitment and dedication.
In accordance with CIF bylaws for high school sports participation, many teams are currently observing their three-week dead period.  Although student-athletes may not participate in sports with their team and/or coaches during this time, they are allowed and encouraged to maintain their individual conditioning.  The weight room is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to noon through Friday, Aug. 13.  Devin Nogaki, Poly’s performance enhancement coach and injury prevention specialist, will be supervising the weight room during this period.

A copy of the Fall Athletics Preseason Practice Schedule was included in the Upper School mailing which was sent out the last week of July.  Also, the 2010-2011 Interscholastic High School Sports Participation Form and 2010-2011 CIF Athlete Agreement Form were due to the Athletic Department this summer.  Student-athletes interested in fall sports will not be allowed to participate in practices or games until these forms are in.
