PolySummer Programs are in full swing this summer after a hiatus due to the recent campus construction. Kindergarten through 12th grade students from Pasadena and surrounding communities are enrolled in a variety of academic, athletic, theatre, arts, and enrichment programs. Several alumni have come back to campus to teach classes, with the help of current Poly students and recent graduates as teaching assistants. Audrey Chai ’12, a TA with the program, wanted something productive to do over the summer. She says, “Being a TA was a great choice, because I can give back to Poly and stay a part of the community before I leave for college." Audrey has hand-crafted ceramics in Tricia Marrs’s Clay, Clay, Clay class, taught manners in Royal Etiquette, and helped solve equations in Math Facts for Middle School students. Of course, the academic courses incorporate summer fun; students recently enjoyed ice cream they made from scratch in Exploring Science Through Experiments.
