What new passion or interest did you discover while at Poly?
During my time at Poly, I discovered my interest in journalism through the school’s newspaper, The PawPrint. In my freshman year, I wrote articles on various topics and created graphics for the paper. I really enjoyed seeing my work published for all my classmates to read. Later, as an assistant section editor, I had the opportunity to help edit and create the publication, which taught me a great deal about both publishing and writing.

Which Poly tradition or activity do you look forward to each school year?
Every year, I look forward to the fall dance concert and the spring musical. The performing arts community at Poly is very supportive and encouraging, which makes putting on a production a highlight of the school year. The crowd is always cheering, whether we are acting, singing, or dancing, and as long as we are on stage with our friends, everyone has a good time.

Why did you choose to become an Ambassador?
When I was a prospective student in eighth grade, I attended a shadow day to experience life at Poly. That shadow day was one of the main reasons I decided to attend Poly because the ambassador I followed showed me many aspects of the community that I could only fully understand by experiencing them myself. She also inspired me to participate in many of the programs at Poly that I am part of this year. I became an ambassador to offer the same insight to other prospective students and families, knowing how stressful the high school application process can be.
