This class will teach beginner players how to play chess and to better acquaint themselves with this great game. Students will learn about the pieces, their movements, and basic strategies. There will be many opportunities for games against fellow players, as well as chess puzzles to help students become better players. As their knowledge of chess improves, they will learn more complex beginning, middle, and end-game tactics. Fun variations of the game, such as speed chess, will also be explored.
