This introductory class is designed for students who have minimal or no experience with ceramics. In this class, students will explore sculpture, learn to work on the pottery wheel and slab roller, and learn how to glaze their finished artwork. Demonstrations will be given on how the students can create their own artwork or functional pottery. Students may retake this course in Session 2, where, depending on their abilities, they will learn new throwing and trimming techniques on the pottery wheel, sculptural and decoration techniques, and glazing.
