Poly’s beloved Panther Pods had their first meeting in October! Panther Pods comprise two Lower School students from each grade level and one to two faculty or staff members, remaining consistent throughout the entire K-5 experience. The pods were developed to strengthen the sense of community in the Lower School by allowing students, faculty, and staff to interact with each other in meaningful ways outside of the classroom.
The groups kicked off the year on Thursday, October 17th, by welcoming new pod members. They also did a lesson about service learning focused on caring for our planet and reducing waste. They also read Something Happened to Our Planet, decorated reusable napkins, and learned how using them reduces waste. All students took their napkins home and can pack them in their lunch or use them at home.
We look forward to a wonderful year of Panther Pods!
