Poly Fund Volunteer Spotlight: Carolee Reiling ‘89
Our Poly Fund Volunteers are hard at work and we love showing them off! Each month we will be highlighting a new volunteer. Carolee Reiling ’89 is a Poly alumna, a Poly parent, and an experienced Poly Fund volunteer. Read on for our interview with her.
What is your favorite Poly memory? Watching Dr. Stan Sheinkopf drive his desk around the room to act out scenes in a book—he had his entire high school English class in hysterics. I also loved participating in and watching all of the various sports Poly offered, especially basketball and cross country!
What has helped you manage to deal with Stay-at-Home orders? Learning to give myself and my kids grace, recognizing that the standards we used to hold ourselves to don’t apply right now. Taking care of a 2-year-old while trying to get a 2nd-grader to do Zoom school has been a challenge, to say the least! I’ve tried to foster fun moments, recognizing when we just need to leave the house and get a breath of fresh air, as well as make space for the inevitable frustration and sadness these times can also bring.
Thank you for your hard work, Carolee. And thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers! We truly couldn't do it without you.
