July 21-Day 8

We started earlier today...

We started earlier today at 7:30am. We ate Baozi, eggs, and other Chinese foods.  We set off at 8 am and headed to Happy Valley. It was like Disney Land but not. It was much smaller and had more roller coasters. We waited for 40 minutes for our first ride “Apollo Wheel,” which is a pendulum that rotated around and moved up and down (see the photo). We bonded with the Slovakians and shared information about our respective countries while waiting in line. We were really excited for it until we got much closer and realize it was much bigger than we thought. To prevent their new boat shoes from falling down, Kevin and Mark took off their shoes, and we were then ready to go.  It was soooo thrilling! We spent about 4 hours in the amusement park and experienced only two rides; most of time we were waiting in the lines of course. We spent another hour chatting in McDonalds (yes, I know I shouldn’t have taken them there, but it has air conditioning!). Mark gave us a sociology lesson and Matthew analyzed the characters of Mark, which Mark really loved. We talked about controller, analyst, supporter, and promoter characteristics of each other. The rest of the group joined us at the meeting spot and we arrived the school at 3:30pm just in time for the Chinese class. Kevin and Mackenzie, with my permission of course, skipped the second hour of the extremely difficult Chinese class to learn a basic Thai folk dance called “Ram Wong.” Matt and Mark were jealous about this, but I think they’re over it now (LOL). We just had dinner, consisting of “chicken juice rape” and “fish flavor pork,” and now we are ready to go to practice Tai Chi for the first time in our lives.
