ABOUT THE ACTORS

Trevor Anthony '86 and Isaac Calvin '13 are no strangers to theater. Anthony acted in nine performances during his high school career and starred as Tevye, the milkman, in Fiddler on the Roof as a senior. He went on to pursue theater arts at Duke University and the Yale School of Drama. Anthony began his career as a stage actor, appearing on New York and regional stages and starring in the original New York production of “Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde.” He also won a 1995 Fox Fellowship with Yale classmate Tom McCarthy (Meet the Parents, Up) to write and produce a play. The resulting work about P.T. Barnum, The Killing Act, premiered in 1995 with actor Peter Dinklage (The Station Agent, Game of Thrones).

Isaac Calvin '13 also participated in a wide range of plays at Poly, acting in seven productions including all four spring musicals. In his senior year, Calvin starred as Gabey in On the Town. Outside of Poly, he performed with the Young Men’s Ensemble of the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus throughout high school. Calvin was also selected as a semi-finalist in both the Spotlight and Classical Singer competitions for classical voice. After Poly, he spent a summer at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Austria before starting his undergraduate career at Columbia University, where Calvin is currently a member of the a capella group Nonsequitur.

Fun fact: Anthony and Calvin both had roles in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying during their time at Poly!
